Well, Michael and I have been discussing for a while some rules we want to have in our home as we start raising our children. Of course we didn't want a whole long list to always try and remember and of course things change over the years. Soooo... we decided to make it short and cover what we feel are the most essential areas of our home. Basically, if we start here the rest should take care of itself! :) So here they are (with some added defintion)
1. Choose to view others only in their magnificance.
We are all children of God and should be treated as such. Everyone is precious in his sight and if we all tried to act that way a little more I think there would be a lot less contention and a lot more love in the world.
2. Only speak in increase.
This one I really like. This basically is saying that there is no negativity within ourselves or those around us. We don't allow anyone to put themselves or others down NO EXCEPTIONS! Self-esteem is a major problem in our world today: He's stupid, she's fat... I'm ugly, I'm not good enough.. the list goes on and on! So to conteract this we are now striving to only speak in increase on a daily basis and this goes for all those we come in contact with.
I hope this isn't too confusing! Any questions and you can comment on here and I'll answer. We just want to raise our children in a Spirit inviting enviroment. Yes, we know that we will slip from time to time but having high standards make you strive to be better everyday and not settle for something less than you are. I personally, have problems with self-esteem and feeling caught in the middle of a fight that I don't want to have to begin with! I just never want Nathan or any of our other children to feel this way and I think this will help solve that. Family is soo important and I want my children to always boost eachother up in a world where everyone wants to bring you down. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

A Wonderful Easter!!!
Well, we all went to Pine Valley, Ut for Easter. I haven't been there in 11 years and it was soo much fun!! My mom and siblings came and stayed the night at my house and then we all went down on Thursday!
My aunt and her family came down on Friday! Lots of family and a few dogs!! My grandparents are so much fun and have the most wonderful house in the most beautiful place. My great-uncle Ralph has a big Easter lunch/ Treasure hunt for kids every year the Sat. before Easter in St. George. Nathan got to go on his own little hunt his favorite part? Sitting on the ground and playing in the dirt!! He is really walkin quite well and I love to see him go futher and futher! It was fun to see so much family and to see the restored chapel. They have been using it for the past 100 years or so and there we bats in the attic- literally!- so they came in cleaned out the bats and attached it to the foundation and cleaned it up a bit! I looks amazing!!!
And what made it even cooler was that I got a chance to play an old pump organ!!!
The pulpit was done by the same guy who built the conference center pulpit our of Pres. Hinkleys tree. If you can see the flowers in the corners they were drawn by Elder Packer and he has a bigger version on his mantle.
On Sunday we all showed up to church. My grandparents were going to speak and they were a little nervous. Well, during the Sacrament hymn, President Uchtdorf and his wife came in!!! Luckily, my grandparents didn't see him until right before they spoke or I think they would have passed out! I know I would have!! We got to here him speak of his testimony of the risen Savior and the joy of the gospel. It was really neat!! After the meeting we had the oppertunity to shake his hand and he said the Nathan, " is a very beautiful boy" in that wonderful German accent I love. He also told my grandparents that he was so happy to have found someone who says the Schiefer name right!! Most say "shafer" when it is correctly pronounced "sheefer". What a wonderful way to spend Easter Sunday!
We also visited the tabernacle and the temple visitor centers. Nathan was so wonderful during the 7 hour trip there and 7 hours back! Hope you all had a fun and safe Easter like we did!!

Nathan's Latest Adventures
To start off... yesterday, Nathan first discoverd how to take his diaper off! All of a sudden I see this cute naked tushy crawling across my living room and I looked again and said, "Nathan did you take off your diaper?" he turned, sat and smiled at me. Now today it is only 9 AM but Nathan has already had his share of more adventures! He woke up at 2:30 and decided not to go back to sleep until 4- and only in our bed. Then at about 6:30 he woke up and stood up to play with the headboard of the bed. Then in a sudden motion he DIVED over Michael and off the bed!!! Of course Michael and I jumped up and grabbed him. All was well, Nathan looked a little stunned and surprised but no tears and all smiles. Then later about 8:30 after he had his breakfast and was just cruising, Nathan found his way into the bathroom (which he knows how to open the door because the door is warped) and decided to try SOAP! He got a few little pieces and there are some really nice deep teeth marks left behind! What a guy huh? Well, I'd better not stay on here too long cause who knows what he wil be into next!!!
