So we have been looking at houses for 3 years here in Riverton- 3 years! With no luck :(
We were applying for a Rural House Development Direct Loan- which means that there are a lot of restrictions and money is only available at certain times. Well, with Washington doing who knows what we learned that all the money from the program was getting sequestered on Feb. 1- getting sent back to Washington. We could get a house under contract but had to close before Mar. 31 because the program could be gone by then- as in completely gone! This would end our house hunting because a bank would never give us enough to afford a decent house in Riverton.
So we decided we had to buy RIGHT NOW! We looked at a few houses. Found one we liked- it needed a LOT of work but the potential was great! I was soo excited! Then we got told the bad news- we didn't qualify because it was in commercial zoning. :( I was very upset and so we decided to place a bid on a house we had sort of looked at on Moose- the main reason being I said that I would rent it and it had an AMAZING backyard!
Who you guess that we were accepted and the bid too???
We bought a house we had looked at ONCE! It was a bit nerve racking- I was filled with a lot of doubts and what nots but we felt that this was a good thing for us!
There was quite a few things that needed to be done on this house too-
-popcorn ceilings
-refinishing the wood floor
-paneling in the family room
-new paint (the entire house)
-the bathroom (only one!- needed some work)
and we had one month to do it! so here are some pictures of our before house!

Bathroom (teeeny tiny)
The kitchen- funny story. About 2 years ago, Michael was working for Aaron's. He delivered the stove and refrigerator we now own :) Small town huh ?
The laundry room - after we bought the house we found water damage in the floor and had to tear up all that old vinyl and put down some new laminate.
The boys room
So here are the final stats on our home
3 bedrooms
1 bath
1334 sq. ft.
built in 1954
paid $133,000
and so while the pictures show the nicer side of the home - there was a lot of work that needed fixing!
